Youth Opportunities: How it works

The program is designed to link job-ready youth with full-time, permanent employment. If you are ready to enter the world of work, Youth Opportunities can connect you with employers who are ready to hire. We maintain an ever-growing list of available positions that employers are looking to fill. If you are between 15-30, seeking full-time employment you automatically qualify for:

  • Participation in job search strategies workshop
  • One-on-one employment consultation
  • Registration for the Youth Opportunities project

THREE GREAT WAYS TO OBTAIN MAXIMUM BENEFITS FROM OUR PROGRAM:

1.
Job opportunities are posted on our website which is updated on a daily basis. Youth Opportunities participants have exclusive access to our postings.

2.
Youth Opportunities employers post their job opportunities in our database. Youth resumes are forwarded to the employer and the employer will contact those youth they feel would be a potential match for their position. After interviewing the selected candidates, the employer will hire the person best suited for the position.

3.
As a participant, you will seek out your own employment opportunity, independent of the program while you will receive job search assistance from your YO Consultant. Once you have been interviewed by the employer, your new employer will have the opportunity to apply for a wage subsidy before you start the position (subject to Service Canada approval). Ask a Consultant for more details!

Please note: Interviewing and hiring decisions are the sole responsibility of the employer.
